One goal of any safety-culture change is to gain a shared commitment from all levels of employees in the organization to embrace and internalize the vision. Often, though, that communication gets lost in translation from level to level. Because it’s often under-communicated, and because there are still so many other pressing things on the table, by the time it makes its way down to front-line managers and supervisors the message is so diluted or so misrepresented (or both) that it has about the same impact as adding a gallon of water to a flowing river.
